A blood drive at Buzula Furniture will take place Saturday from 11-4.
Owner Buster Foster has a special connection to this cause. He received 50 units of blood during a medical emergency.
"I had a double liver transplant, and my claim to fame out of that whole ordeal was the fact that I lived 37 days without a functioning liver. That happened because I got constant blood transfusions," Foster said.
Buzula Furniture started hosting blood drives three years ago, and now the drive is gaining steam. They're hoping to get more units than ever this time around, with a goal of 80 in five hours.
"You know five percent of our area gives one hundred percent of our blood. And that's, that in itself is reason why we need to get people out, regularly giving," Foster said.
It doesn't take much to give. Foster says the process will only require about 30 minutes of your time. 30 mintues than can save a life.
