TRENDING NOW: Veterans Tuition Assist
Help is coming for veterans trying to get back in the college classroom.
They will now be granted in-state status at all public universities.
Starting in the fall of 2015, vets and their families will be able to benefit from the lower, in-state tuition at public universities across the country.
This is a victory for veterans organizations who say members of the military often spend long periods overseas and don't maintain residency in the states.
This often leaves them no choice but to pay the hefty tuition if they want to continue their education.
Public colleges worry the new bill will cost them money.
The bill has already received bipartisan support from Congress before lawmakers went on their August recess.
The president has already promised to sign it soon, making it all official.
