TRENDING NOW - Has The Middle East Crisis Reached A Tipping Point?

There was another round of Palestinian rockets and Israeli airstrikes last night -- and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he is willing to continue and even increase the bombardment until quote "quiet is restored"

And in an interview wednesday, Israeli President Shimon Peres said a ground offensive in to Gaza could happen quite soon unless Hamas stops firing its rockets.

But neither side seems willing to back down.

Hamas continues to fire rockets into southern Israel and a Hamas spokesman said they are not afraid of an Israeli ground attack.

At this point no Israelis have yet been killed. According to Palestinian officials more than 80 Palestinians have been killed and more than 550 wounded over the past few days.

The UN Security Council will meet Thursday, with Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon warning that "Gaza is on a knife-edge."
