Sewing for the Tri-State Fair

AMARILLO -- Folks in the panhandle are gearing up for the Tri-State Fair.

With only a few weeks away, some are preparing with their sewing needle.

Local Sewing Instructor Becky Davis says, "nearly a dozen young girls from her class will enter their sewing projects for the first time in the Tri-State Fair contest."

She says it's a great opportunity for them.

Davis hopes to encourage more girls to do it in the future

The Tri-State Fair kicks off on September 12 and continues through the 20.

It's located at the Tri State Fairgrounds.
