Clinic for New Mothers
By Jennifer Flores-Parker
AMARILLO -- It's world breastfeeding week and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center offers mothers support.
The Pediatrics Department provides a new breastfeeding clinic to help mothers with better resources.
And thanks to the Children's Miracle Network, they're also launching the baby cafe which offers professional help and lactation consultants.
Pregnant women and new mothers are encouraged to attend to learn all aspects of taking care of babies.
Professor Thomas Hale says in the last few decades the medical world has increasingly recognized the health benefits of breastfeeding.
Baby cafe is offered weekly at Northwest and BSA hospitals.
