Three Amarillo Schools Named to Prestigious Honor Roll
AMARILLO -- The Texas Business and Education Coalition (TBEC) named three Amarillo ISD schools to the 2011 TBEC Honor Roll. Puckett Elementary, Woodlands Elementary and de Zavala Middle School will be recognized for their achievements in Dallas on December 2.The TBEC Honor Roll is one of the most prestigious awards for sustained, academic excellence in Texas. It recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. Selection criteria also account for each schools student demographics, the number of subjects tested and the grades served. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the states most rigorous standard -commended- in every subject. Less than 4% of the states 8,000 public schools receive this honor.
