Texas DSHS: In the Panhandle 17 Counties Reporting Flu, 4 Reporting Flu Like Illness

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) released their latest surveillance report on the Flu in Texas.

The last week reported is March 5 through March 11.

On Friday, DSHS reported that the flu activity has increased in the Amarillo Health Service Region.

The DSHS is also reporting that 3,795 people have died from Pneumonia and influenza this year.  2,953 of those  3,795 deaths came from people over the age of 65. 152 of those deaths were in our region.
