A Texas prosecutor fired after comparing a potential juror's NAACP membership to white supremacy is vowing to fight back, saying a grudge held by the judge was the real reason for his dismisssal.

Travis County prosecutor Steve Brand made the comments last month during jury selection for a robbery trial, saying the woman's NAACP membership identified her as an "activist" and that he wouldn't want a "white activist or white supremacist" on the jury either.

He was later terminated after Judge Rosemary Lehmberg labeled the comments "racially insensitive."

Brand's attorney claims that his client's cooperation in an earlier investigation of Judge Lehmberg by the Texas Rangers was the real reason for the firing and has vowed to file a "whistleblower" suit.
