TULIA -- Tulia Police arrested Jasman Edward Williams, after he reportedly stole a truck and crashed into a parked vehicle attempting to flee Tulia Police officers.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday, Chief Yarbrough observed a blue and silver Ford pickup truck parked on Airport Road, near Rock Hard Trucking, and ran the license plate. A short time later, the owner of the pickup reported it stolen.

“During that time, we received reports that Williams was seen in a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle. He was also allegedly seen attempting to break into a home and two parked vehicles in the area,” according to Yarbrough.

Tulia Police tried to pull over Williams but he tried to evade officers. However, Williams fled for a short distance before Williams crashed into a parked vehicle and fled on foot.

Williams faces the following charges with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone. Additional charges are pending.
