Hanson Beck, known by the stage name "Beck," has released his 12th studio album called Morning Phase. It's been 6 years since a studio album from Beck, this one being more stripped down and intimate. This time around he has a more positive outlook on life, and is more comfortable in his own skin. Waking Light talks about the soulful time of the 70s, as do most of the songs on the album are in this dreamy-like state.

Dierks Bently has a new CD out, along with a video called Bourbon in Kentucky, where the back-up vocal's of Kacey Musgraves sing along-side images of Dierks on the verge of drowning in his car and floating weight-less in water. The album Riser explores new sounds, and he recorded some of the vocals on his tour bus. Dierks digs deeper into his emotional side with some of lyrics, capturing the birth of his son and the death of his father. Though the whole album isn't darkness and sadness-- one of the breakout songs, Drunk on a Plane, captures the light heartedness of the American country music artist.
