Lone Star Ballet presents the Joseph H. & Arlene Pool production of Romeo and Juliet
Capulets: Montagues; a Ball; a balcony; star-crossed lovers; drawn swords; death; deception; the ultimate tragedy! Romeo and Juliet is an original ballet based on Shakespeare's timeless story of the pinnacle of romance and misfortune. From the moment they met, theirs was a dance of forbidden feelings, danger, and dark secrets; but their love was so powerful that nothing could contain it. Witness the unfolding of this great romance destined for the grave through emotionally vibrant choreography set to the haunting music by Sergei Prokofiev, thrilling fight scenes and theatrical performances. Grand production elements and period costumes enrich the telling of Shakespeares familiar tale of love, revenge, fate, passion, and their consequences. Despite its tragic end, be swept away by the beauty of the sidelong glances, the sweetness of stolen moments and lingering embraces while hoping for a different fate.
