Local Author Pens New Novel

Grant Spradling Releases "David Goes Home: Growing Up Gay in the Dust Bowl."

Amarillo - Author Grant Spradling  has written a new novel called, "David Goes Home: Growing Up Gay in the Dust Bowl."  While fictional, Spradling says it's partially autobiographical.

Grant's book goes back nearly 80 years to the issues of sexual orientation facing a boy at that time.

Grant is an ordained minister who has relived the terrible fear and guilt emerging from the era from which the book is written. 

"David Goes Home: Growing Up Gay in the Dust Bowl" is available on October 1st .  It is $14.95 in paperback and $7.99 for Kindle
 
 About Grant:
Grant Spradling, author of Palenque Murder, grew up in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where he attended Southwestern State College (now a University).

He completed his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma City University and continued his studies at the Boston University School of Theology and the Longy School of Music.

Spradling authored the short-story collection From High in the Mulberry Tree, the mystery novel Maya Sacrifice, and is a co-creator of two volumes of Imaging the Word.

His novel David Goes Home will be released by Hamaca Press on Oct. 1, 2015.

He makes his home with his partner of forty-five years, and two Maya dogs, in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, and Amarillo
