Is There a "Right" Family Size? Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz Explains

Do you see your family as more like the Cleavers, the Bradys, or somewhere in between? No matter how small or how big, the size of your family matters. Determining and planning for that size is a topic on many women's minds. In fact, a recent survey of 1,000 women who are in committed relationships, are done having kids, and are not using permanent birth control found that over half said the main benefit of not getting pregnant again was enjoying the family they currently have, while 72 percent are interested in family planning methods that are permanent.

Regardless of the perfect size, women need to feel educated and confident in the options and choices available to them when making the right decision.

Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz, M.D. discusses a new initiative, Family Size Matters, designed to help educate women and their spouses about their family planning options and encourage discussion with their healthcare provider to help them determine and stick with their ideal family size.
