Family Travel Made Easy

Summer time brings freedom, fun and family vacation. While it may seem like a season of carefree leisure, planning a trip for the whole family can be stressful. From picking the perfect hotel and making sure all the bags are packed to getting the car serviced and ensuring you have the right technology to stay connected, the list of tasks can seem endless.

Busy working mom and travel expert Lisa McElroy is no stranger to packing up the family and heading out on the road.  She talks tips that any family traveling this summer needs to know to make their trip much easier.

Some of Lisa's tips include:
o Plan ahead with Kids: Allow each family member to pick one activity, one restaurant, etc.  As the parents, you have veto power, but you might be surprised at what fun stuff other family members pick that you might never have chosen.

o The Power of Technology: And don't forget to bring tablets, laptops and smartphones to stay connected and help you maintain flexibility during your trip.
Consider a business suite:  Many chains that cater to business people offer suites with multiple rooms which is great for keeping a family together. Wifi and free breakfast is a great bonus, too!

o Car check must-haves: Making sure your vehicle is in top shape prior to hitting the road is key. Find out what needs checked out for proper road safety.
