Cooking With Rocky: Housemade Cranberry Sauce

A great dish for Thanksgiving.

Housemade Cranberry Sauce 

 INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb Fresh Cranberries; washed/dried
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • ½ tsp Allspice
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 Orange; zested/juiced

BONUS: Goat Cheese OR Shortcake/Ice Cream

PROCEDURE:

1. Add cranberry, sugar, and water to a medium saucepot.

2. Bring to a boil.

3. Add cinnamon stick, allspice, and nutmeg.

4. Reduce to a simmer for 5-7 minutes.

5. Remove from heat and add orange zest and juice.

6. Allow to cool before serving.

BONUS: Pour sauce over goat cheese for a quick appetizer with bread/crackers!

BONUS: Pour sauce over shortcake and serve with ice cream as a dessert!
