Amarillo, Texas -
It's the time of year when twinkling Christmas lights don the skyline of Amarillo, but the Amarillo Botanical Gardens shine a light on the spirit of Christmas in a different way.
"The entire grounds will be lit up. There'll be carolers, musical events each evening, we'll have refreshments to purchase if you'd like," explains Director of Horticulture, Greg Lusk.
Bundle up and grab your family or that special someone for an exciting adventure through the gardens that are fully decorated this year.
"It's a nice time to be out with the family instead of driving through neighborhoods looking at lights. Half way through here you can stop at the conservatory and warm up and that'll be lit up also."
"The colors are real warm and just the atmosphere and the time of the year everybody's excited about the season and they really do light up."
There are over 100,000 lights at the garden, but they can't say the exact number because they're having a Christmas light counting contest.
"We'd like to see a lot of people come out and support it. I think they'd be delighted if the come and get out of their car and walk through it. we'd be delighted if Amarillo shows up."
