Known as predictive dialing these calls happen when a telemarketers automatic dialer simultaneously dials many phone numbers at the same time. Since the telemarketer can only handle one call at a time, the first person to answer his or her phone is connected to the telemarketer, the others are dropped or disconnected.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the BBB receive many complaints about predictive dialing calls. FCC rules require that companies identify themselves to consumers and also that telemarketers maintain do-not-call lists for people who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls.

What to Do:

- File a Complaint
- Don't Pick Up Quickly
