Entering high school is a tremendous experience. This is an important time when a kid gets to decide who he wants to be.  The transition from junior high to high school can be a tough one for both kids and parents.  Aaron Hunt teaches Educational Research at West Texas A&M University has some advice on making the transition a little easier.

- Students should get involved in some type if extra curricular organization. High schools offer so many choices-- from electives, to fine arts, to clubs, and sports. There really is something for everyone. Pick something and stick with it.

- Make a dry run before the first day. Find lockers, classes, etc.

- Be positive and enjoy each day. Life is what you make of it, and there are too many tough things to get hung up on the negative.

- Have no regrets!
