Atlanta, Georgia -
There's been a big increase in tailgate thefts.
The National Insurance Crime Bureau released a report saying tailgate thefts rose by nearly one-third between 2012 and 2013, from about 830 thefts to almost 1,100.
The NICB reviewed claims data submitted by insurance companies over the last two years.
It found that by state, the most thefts happened in Texas, California and Arizona.
And the cities reporting the most thefts were Houston, San Antonio and Dallas.
The stolen tailgates are resold in the underground market as replacement parts or sold for scrap metal.
