Sake Shortage on the Horizon?

-
(KCRA)  For 25 years, Gekkeikan Sake has been producing sake for North America, Canada, South America and much of Europe.

The company is the second largest sake producer in the USA.

Now the president of the Folsom, California plant worries that is if the drought continues and mandatory water restrictions are put in place, he will have to scale back production and possibly lay off workers.

"It's a huge a problem," said Yoshiyuki Saito, who has lead the Folsom plant since 2009. "We cannot make sake if we don't have enough rice and water."
