Dirty Deed: Diapers Stolen
(WNCN) A Durham, North Carolina organization that provides diapers for families in need is trying to recover after someone broke into its facility and stole 13,000 diapers.
The fallout from that burglary of the Diaper Bank of North Carolina will impact thousands of families that are already facing tough times, founder Michelle Old said.
Old said she discovered the diapers missing when she went to pick up an order to be distributed to a homeless shelter. She found the order had been strewn across the floor, and various sizes of diapers were missing.
"We are hearing in the community that they are being sold on the streets, which is disturbing," Old said.
