Saturday 10,000 Lubbock I.S.D. students received a new pair of shoes thanks to Bobs by Skechers.
The program donates one pair of shoes for every pair that is brought.
In May, Skechers donated 50,000 pairs of shoes to kids in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with a 1/5 of those shoes coming to the Hub City.
Lauren Dutko, a Skechers representative, said since the program started in 2011 they have given away more than 8 million shoes.
Superintendent Dr. Berhl Roberston said when Skechers called he jumped at the chance, especially since close to 70% of L.I.S.D. students are at an economic disadvantage.
The kids got to pick out one pair of shoes and then decorated the pair with paint.
Most of the kids wrote their names, some drew flowers and hearts.
