Special Prosecutor Neither Confirms Or Denies Medina Indictment

- LUBBOCK, TX – If former City Attorney Sam Medina was indicted Thursday it would not be public record according to the special prosecutor handling the case.

Special prosecutor 47th District Attorney Randall Sims of Potter County said he could neither confirm nor deny the existence of an indictment despite media reports that Medina had been indicted for the sexual assault. Sims said the disclosure of any indictment before it is properly released into the public record could be a violation of state law or it could constitute contempt of court.

However, multiple sources in law enforcement have said Medina was indicted on 10 counts of sexual assault. Those sources have asked not to be named.
