AMARILLO – The High Plains Food Bank is showing off the new Kids Café kitchen.
The kitchen will help expand Kids Café from 10 to 20 sites over the next two years, with a capacity to make 5,000 meals every 8 hours if needed.
This will make it possible for Kids Cafe to provide meals to rural communities for the first time ever.
A secondary use of the facility will be to make meals in times of disasters. We will also being looking at senior meals, as the numbers have increased on the amount of food insecurity in that population.
