Skinner Hearing Ends

- PAMPA -- Death row inmate Hank Skinner will have to wait a little longer to learn his fate.

A two day evidentiary hearing into post-conviction DNA test results from the case ended Tuesday.

Skinner's attorneys contend there was another person in the house the night of the murders.

An independent test on evidence, paid for by the defense, indicates DNA of an unknown origin on the knife used to kill the two men.

A DNA analyst for the state of Texas testified Tuesday the absence of any further matches to the unknown sample found at the crime scene is possible, but, not likely.  That supports the original conviction of Skinner in the murders of his live-in girlfriend and her two adult sons.

Attorneys for both sides have 21 days after receiving transcripts of the hearing to turn-in their written arguments.

The judge will rule on his findings afterward.
