Setting the GOP Agenda
By Steve Handelsman
(NBC News) On a break from the political combat in Washington, Republicans leaders declared Thursday they will stop being what they called "just the opposition party."
House Republicans retreated to Maryland's eastern shore to plot election year strategy and promise fed-up voters a change: Less negativity.
"It's important that we show the American people that we're not just the opposition party, we're actually the alternative party," House Speaker John Boehner said.
Republicans say they'll offer their own plan for health care, soon, and for immigration reform, although it's not ready either.
