Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle will host the 15th Annual Salt and Pepper Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, at St. Marys Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington.

The tickets are $25 per person.

The guest speaker will be Father Larry Snyder, president of Catholic Charities USA, the national office of more than 160 local Catholic Charities that provide help and create hope for more than 10 million people a year, regardless of their religious, social or economic backgrounds.

Snyder is the author of Think and Act Anew: How Poverty in America Affects Us All and What We Can Do About It.

In 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Snyder to the Presidents Advisory Council of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

The event will raise funds for the InterFaith Hunger Project (IFHP), a small grocery store which serves low-income individuals 55 and older or receiving disability at any age.

First-time donations to the IFHP are eligible for dollar for dollar matching funds through a Challenge Grant from the United Way of Amarillo/Canyon.

All donations to the IFHP during March and April are eligible for Feinstein Foundation challenge funds.
