Rotary District Governor Visits Amarillo West Rotary Club

AMARILLO - Rotary District 5730 Governor Charles Starnes visited the Amarillo West Rotary Club today.

Governor Starnes represents the Panhandle, South Plains, and Permian Basin.

He shared the mission of Rotary, of eradicating polio, supporting international disaster relief, and promoting education.

Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges.

"We have a motto that we are going to end polio because we are literally this close, and we want to drop polio down to zero this year by continuing the immunization efforts around the world," said Starnes.

The Amarillo West Rotary Club's motto is "service above self".

They provide scholarships to Tascosa High School students.
