Religious Cult Leader's Convictions Upheld

- SANTA FE, N.M. -- The New Mexico court of appeals has upheld the 2008 conviction of cult leader Wayne Bent.
    Bent was sentenced to ten years for criminal sexual contact and delinquency of a minor.
    Bent's attorneys insisted that errors made by the district court was reason enough to overturn the conviction, but the court ruled that no errors were made.
    Bent was the leader a religious cult located north of Clayton, New Mexico at the time of the incident and his conviction..
