UPDATE 5:15 p.m. -- Two women discover the body of a woman on the side of the road.

The women were driving northbound on Helium road near West County Road 34 west of Amarillo when they spotted an SUV parked on the side of the road.  Upon closer inspection, they saw a body lying next to it.

Randall County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Danny Alexander said, "We've tied down the scene and are processing the evidence.  We don't know for sure what happened, but we are treating it as suspicious."

There is no official cause of death, but it doesn't appear natural.

Investigators have identified the woman.  She is from Amarillo, but they are not releasing her name pending notification of next of kin.

Alexander doesn't know when she died but he believes it happened sometime overnight.

An Autopsy will be performed in Lubbock Wednesday morning.
