BORGER -- The Panhandle Regional Planning Commission is in Borger today to work with the City of Borger and Hutchinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Danny Richards to build an updated Hazard Mitigation Plan.

All of Borger first response agencies attended the meeting. School officials, nursing home personnel, city and county elected officials were also there to help with planning.

The meeting will involve discussions and perspectives from everyone present to be able to build the best plan possible.

The purpose of building a Hazard Mitigation Plan is to identify potential problems that could occur during a disaster or event, and make plans of how to answer those problems.
