One Dead, Another With Life-Threatening Injuries in Quay County Crash

TUCUMCARI - One person is dead and another has life-threatening injuries after a crash in Quay County.

According to the New Mexico State Police, a vehicle was traveling west on I-40 at milepost 326, just west of Tucumcari.

We are told for an unknown reason, the driver drove off the roadway, overcorrected, and rolled the vehicle. 

State police said the passenger, Ivan Wray Bridges, 69, of Donley, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Tucumcari and then airlifted to a hospital in Amarillo with life-threatening injuries.

This case remains under investigation.
