AMARILLO -- Sunday afternoon, Amarillo Police responded to a report of a man, 29-year-old Mario Felix Mencias, inside Taco Bell on Ross threatening people with a gun.

Police in the area found the suspect running west from Taco Bell. Officers began searching the alley near 25th and S. Ross, and saw a man stand up and look out of a dumpster in the alley.

The man refused to step out of the dumpster, so officers took him out of the dumpster and took him into custody.
Officers searched the man and found he was carrying a .45 caliber handgun, a fixed blade type knife, and some cash.

Officer learned that the man had actually robbed the store.

Mencias was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for aggravated robbery.

*Correction - Amarillo Police identified the suspect as Mario Felix Mecias. It is actually Mencias.
