Oklahoma Sues Federal Government Over Lesser Prairie Chicken

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Attorney General is suing the federal government over the Lesser Prairie Chicken.

Scott Pruitt alleges the US Fish and Wildlife Service is working with special interest groups in lawsuits.

He claims the settlements often impose tougher regulations and quicker deadlines than what Congress has made law.

He says it's hurting the economy.

Pruitt says this is happening with several animal species, including the endangered Lesser Prairie Chicken.

More than two million acres have been preserved for the bird.
