Non-Profit School Rankings

HOUSTON -- Children at Risk, a Houston non-profit, released rankings ranging from district to individual schools. 

The schools are ranked across three indexes: Student Achievement, Campus Performance, and 

Children at Risk released the 9th annual School Rankings to serve as an accessible guide for parents, educators, and community members on the performance of local schools and to spark important community dialogue on the quality of public education in Texas.

School District Rankings:
  • Canyon ISD ranked 210 out of 953 and received a "B" grade. 
  • Amarillo ISD ranked 490 and received a "C" grade. 
Out of 1193 High Schools:
  • Amarillo High was 138th with an A- ranking; 
  • Canyon High School was 233 with a "B+" ranking 
  • Randall High School was 383 with a "B" ranking 
  • Tascosa High School was 889 with a "D" ranking 
  • Caprock High School was 900 with a "D" ranking 
  • Palo Duro High School was 1096 with a "D" ranking
