(KARK) The second round of Arkansas executions planned for this week are currently on hold as legal challenges play out in the courts.
Pulaski County Circuit Judge Alice Gray has issued a temporary restraining order on the state's lethal injection drug blocking the remaining five executions.
Drug distributor McKesson claims that the state of Arkansas was misleading when they originally purchased the drug.
Also, the Arkansas Supreme Court granted a stay of execution for death row inmate Stacey Johnson Wednesday, who was one of two inmates scheduled to die Thursday evening. This came after Johnson claimed additional DNA testing in his case could prove he was innocent.
