It takes help to fight hunger.

"This is all built around the volunteers in everything that we do, whether it be delivery, assembling, prepping ,the whole nine yards. This program does not exists without volunteers," Dyron Howell, founder of Snack Pak 4 Kids said.

More than 3,000 people have given their time over the past year to Snack Pak 4 Kids in Amarillo alone, and they manage them mostly online through

"We have tried to match up our culture, which is more tech oriented now, with our resources, which is very limited in the people we have and we've merged the two together to manage a very large volume of volunteers," Howell said.

These types of cyber options are becoming more popular. A new tool from the Texas Hunger Initiative,, is seeking to help out as well.

The Amarillo chapter of the Texas Hunger Initiative is just one sponsor in this state wide project.

"We just know that there's lots of need here, so and we know that there's people who love us, love Amarillo, love this community, so this online tool is a resource where people can go, sign up, and find opportunities where they can help our community," Jennifer Ashley, Regional Director of the Texas Hunger Initiative said.

And, helping the community is increasingly online. It starts with the click of a button.
