New Mexico State Police Invesigations Bureau Investigate SFPD Officer Involved Shooting

SANTA FE COUNTY -- On August 8 at 11:57 pm, New Mexico State Police were called in to investigate a Santa Fe City Police Officer involved shooting.  Currently, there are two crime scenes. 

SFPD noticed a vehicle that matched the description of a stolen vehicle matching a "be on look out" given out earlier in the day at the Allsups at Calle La Resolana and Cerrillos Road. The officer initiated a traffic stop and an occupant started shooting.  

Officers followed the suspect down Cerrillos Road to Big 5 Sporting Goods where a male subject was shot by SFPD. The person is alive at St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center.
