(KOB) An Albuquerque, New Mexico man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a man to death after snatching his infant son.

Kenneth Boyd's girlfriend told police they received a ride after a party from the suspect, 32-year-old Michael Fox. She said Fox drove both of them, their small child and two other people.

When the child started crying, Fox reportedly pulled over so the parents could get a bottle out of the trunk, but Boyd's girlfriend said Fox drove off with the small child when they got out of the vehicle.

Torrance County deputies and Edgewood police responded to their call for help and dropped Boyd and his girlfriend off at a residence in the foothills.

Police said Boyd called Fox and got him to agree to drop the child off at a Circle K gas station.

As Boyd and his girlfriend arrived at the gas station, police said Fox ran across the parking lot and began attacking Boyd. He suffered numerous stab wounds.
