AMARILLO -- Two new clinics are helping new mothers with breastfeeding

The Children's Miracle Network Baby Cafe opened today.

They'll have weekly breastfeeding support groups at Northwest and BSA.

The breastfeeding clinic will help new mothers with more resources they need when first starting out.

Those new clinics come just in time as breastfeeding rates in the US are on the rise.

According to new research, in 2011, more than 75-percent of newborns were breastfed.

Almost 50-percent were still breastfeeding at six months.

The report also finds that support for new moms is now easier to find.

Experts say breast milk has a lot of nutrients and benefits for a newborn.
