The US economy has turned around what was a weak winter.

The government says the economy grew at a four-percent annual rate in the second quarter of the year.

That's better than the three-percent many economists expected.

The bounce back was fueled by stronger consumer spending, exports and business investment.

New numbers show that winter wasn't as bleak as reported. The economy shrank 2.1-percent, rather than the 2.9 originally reported.
