State College, Pennsylvania -
(NBC News) A report reviewing the child molestation investigation of former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was made public Monday.
The review was ordered by Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane.
Kane said it was important for the people of Pennsylvania to find out why it took nearly three years after the first abuse allegation to bring criminal charges against Sandusky.
Kane says the investigation found miscommunication between various law enforcement agencies and lack of urgency in investigating the allegations against the former football coach, but the review also found no evidence that the investigation into Sandusky was slowed by politics.
