(NBC News) The three women held captive in a Cleveland home for nearly a decade are celebrating their first year of freedom.
Michelle Knight appeared on the Today Show Tuesday, where she told Savannah Guthrie that she's "doing just fine" and that life is "awesome" right now.
Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, Knight's fellow captives, released statements.
Berry's reads in part "So much has happened this past year. I have grown. I am strong. And I have so much to live for, to look forward to", while DeJesus said she's learning how to drive, use new technology, and that "this past year has been amazing, full of healing and hope. I am spending time with my family".
