(NBC News) A new online threat has come to light this week with the "Heartbleed" Bug.

The bug is basically a mistake in a widely used software that could make it easier for identity thieves
to steal personal information from internet users.

"You never know what kind of flaw out there could open the door for hackers to get into your
private information," cautions Editor in Chief Lindsay Turrentine.

Unfortunately for internet users everywhere, that's just what security experts discovered the Heartbleed Bug has been doing.
