Gauging The Ebola Threat
By Erika Edwards
(NBC News) Just weeks after two American missionaries infected with Ebola walked out of Emory University Hospital, smiling and in recovery, a third still in liberia has fallen ill with the deadly virus.
The charity organization SIM USA declined to name the doctor, but said he is doing well in isolation and in "good spirits."
Meanwhile, Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control, returned Monday from West Africa. He said the global effort to stop the outbreak needs to increase dramatically, and said number of cases continues to grow.
"I'm afraid that over the next few weeks, those numbers are likely to increase further and significantly," Frieden said.
