(NBC News) National Guard soldiers are moving out of Ferguson, Missouri.
The draw-down of forces comes in the wake of two nights of largely peaceful protests.
Still, residents are demanding answers in the killing of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
A citizens coalition is demanding that charges be filed against the officer who killed brown, and have also launched a petition drive asking prosecutor Robert Mccullah to step aside from the case.
"The people don't believe he would do the right thing," says Missouri State Senator Jamilah Nasheed. "They don't have the confidence that's needed and that's why we have 70,000 signatures that we will be delivering today.
They say he can't be fair because of his family ties to law enforcement including his father, a police officer killed in the line of duty. In a statement released by McCullah he said he has "faithfully and fairly carried out those responsibilities for more than two decades and will continue to do so."
