Built in 1955, it's finally being replaced.
The president has ordered more projects fast-tracked, noting the United States has slipped to 19th worldwide in infrastructure rankings.
"I don't like America being 19th. I don't like America being second. I want us to be first when it comes to infrastructure around the world because businesses are going to come where there's good infrastructure," Mr. Obama said.
Most big road and bridge projects are funded by teh federal gas tax, which Congress hasn't raised in 20 years.
