FAA, Boeing: Dreamliner Safe After Battery Issue

-
The FAA says a review of the Boeing 787 has found the plane safe a year after problems were reported with the jetliner's lithium-ion battery.

A team from Boeing and the FAA checked the design, assembly and manufacture of the 787.

The group says the plane "was soundly designed" and "met its intended safety level."

The review began after overheating batteries aboard two dreamliners prompted aviation officials to ground all 50 of the planes worldwide.

Boeing says it made changes to the 787 battery system last year.
