Amarillo, Texas -
AMARILLO -- The new overpass at Mobley over US 87 in north Amarillo will open this afternoon. Motorists will be able to cross US 87 at Mobley, but there will still be limited access during the day while construction winds down. Full daytime access is expected by the middle of next week.
All-way stop signs will still be in place on both the north and southbound frontage roads, and traffic on US 87 under the new overpass is still down to one lane in each direction and will remain so for the next two weeks.
The project cost about $1.7 million. The new Mobley Avenue Bridge connects the two campuses of River Road Junior and Senior High Schools.
