Portales, New Mexico -
PORTALES -- A Portales man is in critical condition following a standoff yesterday.
The Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office says the 45-year-old man was upset after being evicted from his home.
When police arrived he had busted the windows from the home and threatened officers with a rifle.
Police finally got him to come out of the house and saw that he had shot himself.
Once in the house, police say they found he had also shot and killed his three dogs.
Several homes are being threatened near Tulia.
Hartley County is reporting a wildfire near FM 2357 and County Road T.
